Tamara is the winner of the $1000 grand prize in our Fall Body Care Challenge, where she worked very hard to run her first half marathon! From hating meal prepping to feeling motivated and supported to do it regularly, Tamara has come a long way.
But for her, the value is much more than the money she won or the pounds she lost.
“I am a happier person now than I was at the beginning of the year, before I started taking care of myself. BODZii has been one of the main things that kept me sane this year.”
How has having the BODZii community helped her make such a drastic life change?
Here’s a Q&A with Tamara on her journey, her struggles, and how she feels now completing our Fall Body Care Challenge! (If you're ready to make a change, learn more about our next challenge here!)
Post-challenge results:
- Losing 5.5 lbs (2 weeks in, she was worried she actually gained weight!)

Tamara’s top 3 favourite parts of the challenge:
- The positive community and support whenever she posted a question
- Seeing honest posts of challenge participants share their ups and downs
- Getting self-improvement book recommendations through a mini-challenge
Tamara’s least favourite part of the challenge:
- Meal prepping, she originally wanted to opt out of that portion!
(But after seeing so many people do it, she was motivated to start.)
What did your life look like before and after our Fall Body Care Challenge?
Right before the challenge started, it was my birthday week! I went all out, had cakes, pizza, and really treated myself. That full week I ate whatever I wanted which really made me lose motivation. I wanted to get that back in my life.
I really wasn’t happy with my diet during quarantine. Now I have way more control over my cravings and what I eat in a day. It’s also helped me with my daily routine. I used to finish work and feel like my day is over, but now I take walks in the afternoon. Because of this challenge, I started meal prepping which was something I had a hard time with in the beginning.
What were the biggest struggles you faced and how did you handle it?
At the beginning of the challenge, I made a post sharing how I absolutely didn’t want to meal prep. But people commented that I could just prep part of it which I didn’t think of before. Then I saw all these other people share their meal prep photos. If that many people are doing it, it can’t be that hard.
What did you find the most helpful about this challenge vs. making the same changes on your own?
I got so used to checking the challenge facebook group every day and I miss not having new notifications! Being able to interact with a community and seeing how everyone is doing is very motivating.
This challenge definitely sets the right pace for everyone! I love that Coach Robyn explained how it’s not just about points but also progress photos and community involvement. There are points every day and bonus points, so you don’t need to stress out if you’re off for one day.
I would definitely recommend BODZii to anyone. Knowing the coaches are there with their expertise and this big community that’s there for you helps a lot. Whenever I had a question, tons of people answered and are there to support you.
